The North American Hut Atlas
Privacy
Last updated 2026-04-21
Short answer: the atlas collects almost nothing about you. No accounts, no login, no newsletter signup unless you ask for one, no ads.
What we collect
- Nothing by default when you browse. The site is static HTML. Opening a page does not create a profile, save a cookie, or set local storage.
- Analytics. We use Plausible, a privacy-respecting analytics service that counts visits without cookies and without tracking across sites. No personally identifiable information is collected.
- If you email hello@hutatlas.com, we receive your message and respond from the same address. Emails are routed through Cloudflare and forwarded to a personal inbox. We use the content to answer your question, not to market at you.
- If you submit the trip planning form, we collect whatever you send (dates, group size, region preference, contact email, etc.) so we can design an itinerary for you. We do not sell or share it. After the trip is delivered, we may keep a copy for our records.
What we do not do
- No retargeting, no ad pixels, no Google Analytics.
- No data sold or shared with third parties.
- No email list you are auto-subscribed to by using the site.
- No profiling, no personalization across sessions.
Third parties
The site loads assets from Google Fonts, unpkg (Leaflet), CartoDB (map tiles), and Plausible. Those providers may log your IP and user agent as is normal for any request to their servers. We do not correlate those logs with anything.
Your options
You can ask us what we have on you, or to delete it, by emailing hello@hutatlas.com. We will respond within 14 days.
Changes
If we update this policy, we will change the "Last updated" date above and push the change to the site. Big changes, like ever introducing real tracking, would come with a notice on the home page first.
