Notes
A 5 by 6.2 metre Himmelsbach cabin in the timber along North Creek below the Pebble Glacier, with a 10 person loft and a wood stove that runs all year. Kit is better than most BCMC huts: group cooking gear for ten, a two burner countertop propane stove that takes the green one pound cylinders, a backup Coleman, and solar lights with an actual USB charging port. You bring a fuel cylinder rather than a kitchen. The summer hike is short at 5.7 km but steep and brushy through old slide paths that BCMC clears each July, and the east bank route uses a cable car over the creek. Watch the road as much as the trail: the Lillooet FSR closes in hot or wet spells because of landslide risk off Mount Meager, and BCMC gives no refund if you cannot reach the cabin. Sugas, Delilah, Sessel, Spillman and Pebble are the objectives, and the ice caves under the Pebble Glacier are the short day.
