Notes

This is not the Julian Harrison Hut. That one is the Varsity Outdoor Club A-frame at Meager Creek, 35.6 km west at 50.5206 -123.4319, and the two get mixed up because both sit above Pemberton and both are sometimes filed as generic Pemberton huts. Tenquille Lake Cabin is a separate building run by a separate organisation: rebuilt in 2011 by Pemberton Wildlife Association volunteers on the site of a 1940s original, at the west end of Tenquille Lake, with a communal upper loft, sleeping pads supplied, propane cooktops, a wood stove with firewood provided, and solar LEDs. Twelve people maximum and the PWA charges CAD 250 if you turn up with thirteen. Reservations open 60 days out at 5pm and you must carry the confirmation because there is genuinely no cell service. No dogs, no mountain bikes, no helicopters, no campfires, no commercial or guided groups; this is a non-motorized rec area on Lil'wat territory and the PWA enforces it. Standard way in is Branch 12 off the Hurley FSR, 6 km over Tenquille Pass, but Branch 12 wants a 4x4 and the longer Lillooet River trail from the valley floor is 9.5 km with a lot more climbing.
