Season
Open all year, never reservable. Winter is the point and the cabin fills on weekends and holidays from roughly December into April, when the club pays contractors to plow the Sechelt Gray Creek FSR. Snow covers the last open stretch of trail above the forest well into July, and summer overnight traffic is light.

Notes

Highest of the four Tetrahedron cabins at 1500 m and the one people come to ski. The summit of Mount Steele is about 160 m above the door, half a kilometre away, and Hippo Peak, Raven Dance Peak and Tetrahedron Peak are all day objectives off the same bunk. The west facing bowl between Steele and Hippo is the park's most serious avalanche feature and the club says plainly to stay out of it when ratings are up. Volunteers reroofed the cabin and installed a conveyor toilet in August 2023, the only one in the park, the other three still fly their waste out by helicopter. Firewood is airlifted at roughly $18,000 CAD a year, so burn it like it costs money. Some carriers get a signal at and above the cabin, which is more than you get anywhere else in the park except Edwards. Winter numbers here start at the lower plowed lot, which adds a kilometre of road and 120 m of climb before the trail begins; from the upper 4WD summer lot it is 7.9 km.
